Potency

In regard to pharmacology, potency is a measure of a drug’s dose required to produce a pharmacological effect of given intensity. Potency works on a spectrum, a highly potent drug evokes a given response at low concentrations, while a drug of lower potency evokes the same response only at higher concentrations.
