I’ve been working at CannaPlus for 2 years today!
What do you enjoy most about working in the admin/reception team?
The thing I enjoy most is being at the front line of patient interaction, helping them navigate their journey with medicinal cannabis, and witnessing first-hand the positive impact we have on their lives.
What’s your favourite part of interacting with patients?
I love educating patients, especially when it comes to personalising their treatment plans. It’s rewarding to help them discover the most effective methods of consuming their medication, reducing harm, and improving their overall well-being.
How do you contribute to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for patients?
I ensure that patients feel comfortable and informed from the moment they walk in. As the Vape Educator, I take extra care in offering a personalised approach, explaining everything in detail to make them feel supported throughout their journey.
What advice would you give to new patients about getting started with CannaPlus?
Be open to learning and ask lots of questions! Medicinal cannabis can be a deeply individual experience, so take your time understanding the treatment options available to you, and don’t hesitate to ask for guidance.
Can you share a memorable or humorous moment you’ve experienced while helping a patient?
There was a time when a patient, who was completely new to vaping, accidentally blew into the vape pen instead of inhaling! We both had a good laugh, and it was a great way to break the ice and make the learning process more enjoyable.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my free time, I enjoy performing and creating music. I often DJ on the weekends!
What’s something unique about you that patients might find interesting?
I’ve had the unique opportunity to personally test a large range of the dry herb vaporisers sold in New Zealand, which gives me insight into how each one works. This helps me better understand what patients are experiencing, and I can offer more practical advice.
How do you collaborate with other members of the CannaPlus team to ensure patients have a smooth and positive experience?
I work closely with the doctors and other staff members to ensure that patients are well-educated on their treatment options. We communicate regularly to stay updated on patient progress and provide a cohesive and supportive experience.
What do you find most rewarding about your role at CannaPlus?
The most rewarding part is seeing the relief and improvement in patients’ quality of life after they’ve found a treatment plan that works for them. Knowing that I played a part in helping them get there is incredibly fulfilling.
Share a memorable humorous moment you’ve had with a patient at CannaPlus.
One of the funniest moments was when a patient asked if they could “double their dose” of education after our session. They were so enthusiastic about learning that it turned into a light-hearted joke, and we both had a good laugh.
