Dr Li Shawn

Originally from Malaysia, Dr Li arrived in New Zealand in 2006 and studied at University of Otago. After graduation, she worked in Timaru Hospital, Dunedin Hospital and Christchurch Hospital in various specialties before embarking in GP training and achieving her fellowship in November 2021. Li enjoys getting to know her patients and providing culturally appropriate care. In her practice she sees a lot of prescription medication like codeine, anti-inflammatories, and benzodiazepines used with significant side effects. Her hope is that medicinal cannabis can be a safe adjunct to help patients improve their quality of life with less side effects.
