Dr Helen Gemmell

Originally from Scotland, Dr Helen came to New Zealand after her medical internship and has called New Zealand home for over 20 years.

From her many years as a GP, Dr Helen has always had a wellness based approach to her work, focusing on being patient centred and holistic. The use of medicinal cannabis to alleviate symptoms and manage a wide range of conditions fits well within her practicing framework where it expands the treatment options alongside conventional medications.

With a wealth of clinical experience Dr Helen has always had a strong interest in all aspects of women‘s health with a particular focus on the menopause. She has additional post graduate qualifications in sports medicine – the use of medicinal cannabis to support training and exercise recovery for all kinds of athletes is an emerging clinical area. Dr Helen also has a keen interest in the concerns and symptoms experienced by those people living with multiple sclerosis.

Dr Helen brings a kind and compassionate approach to her work and welcomes seeing patients from all walks of life.
